The Role of Social Protection Networks in Fighting Against Unemployment in Algeria

Abstract

This study mainly aims to identify the role of social protection networks in fighting against unemployment in Algeria as a mechanism of combating poverty, reducing income's inequality and improving living standards of the most vulnerable citizens. Social protection networks have gained an increasing attention from the government as they are the safety valve that prevents the effects of the economic reform programs adopted for years by the state. Accordingly, Algeria has taken several measures to alleviate unemployment among the youth. To achieve the objectives of the study, a set of methods and approaches were applied as follows: descriptive method, case study method.
