Publication Ethics
The journal encourages the authors to consider the following ethical responsibilities of an author. It is requested to involve all the authors in the peer-review. All authors must acknowledge the correctness of the data contained in the knowledgeable paper. The author is obligated to correct and review all errors in the scientific paper. The authors must submit original research that has been published before elsewhere. Proper citations must be placed for previous works. The research should not violate the intellectual property rights of other authors.
Ethical approval
Authors conducting research involving human participants are required to include a statement within their manuscript affirming that the study received approval from the appropriate institutional or national ethics committee, including the reference number, where available. In cases where the study was exempted from ethical review or did not require formal ethics approval, this must be explicitly stated and justified within the manuscript.
Subject consent
The confidentiality and privacy of research subjects must be safeguarded without exception. Informed consent must be obtained from all participants involved in studies, particularly when publication includes photographs or other materials that may lead to personal identification. If the original consent form did not explicitly authorize the publication of such identifiable material, additional consent must be obtained, or the identifying content must be omitted. Non-essential identifying information—whether textual or visual—should be excluded; however, data must not be altered or falsified in an effort to achieve anonymity. It is important to recognize that complete anonymity is inherently difficult to guarantee; for instance, obscuring the eye region in photographs does not constitute sufficient protection of participant identity. The manuscript must include a clear statement indicating that informed consent was obtained where applicable.
Permissions
Authors must seek permission from the copyright owner(s) to reproduce any materials such as figures, tables, or text passages in your article that have already been published elsewhere. It is mandatory to submit proper documentation of this permission when submitting articles. The granting of permission should be acknowledged alongside the material (e.g., legend of a figure) in the submitted article. Without such proof, it will be considered that any provided materials belong to the authors.
Authorship
To be credited as an author of any publication, the author must have significant contributions to the idea or design of the work, or to the collection, analysis, or interpretation of data for the work, or writing the manuscript and critically editing it for key intellectual substance.
According to the ICMJE, authorship can be granted based on the four following criteria:
- Substantial contributions to the conception or design of the work; or the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data for the work; AND
- Drafting the work or revising it critically for important intellectual content; AND
- Final approval of the version to be published; AND
- Agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work in ensuring that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.
Therefore, contributors credited as authors must understand that they are taking the responsibility and being accountable for what is published. Therefore, authors must give consent to take responsibility for all aspects of the work in order to guarantee that any concerns about the accuracy or integrity of any portion of the work are thoroughly investigated and addressed.
Ethical consideration of the editor
The editorial board of the journal is committed to ensuring that all assessments provided by peer reviewers are conducted objectively and without bias. Reviewers are required to treat all submitted manuscripts with strict confidentiality and to evaluate them based on scholarly merit, adhering to principles of fairness and impartiality. Reviewers must promptly inform the editor of any actual or potential conflicts of interest that could influence their evaluation. The editor holds full authority and responsibility for the final decision to accept or reject a manuscript, guided by the relevance, quality, and integrity of the content, as well as the interests of both readers and authors. Manuscripts will not be rejected without substantiated grounds concerning the content. The selection of reviewers is at the discretion of the editor and remains confidential; identities of reviewers will not be disclosed. The editor also bears responsibility for ensuring that all editorial decisions align with the journal’s ethical policies and standards.
Plagiarism Check
The Journal of Medical Rehabilitation Science maintains a strict stance on issues related to copyright infringement, plagiarism, and other forms of ethical misconduct in scholarly publishing. Upholding the rights of authors and preserving the journal’s academic reputation are fundamental priorities. All submitted manuscripts undergo rigorous screening using plagiarism detection software to ensure compliance with ethical standards. Any manuscript found to contain plagiarized material, whether through direct copying or inadequate attribution, will be rejected. The journal adheres to recognized international guidelines on publication ethics to prevent and address breaches of academic integrity.
