Abstract

This study is based on the subject of the five universals and their impact on achieving peaceful coexistence between Muslims and non-Muslims, and how the objectives of Sharia provide the common basic rule through preserving the five necessary universals of preserving religion, self, mind, lineage, and money, as the objectives are a science that shows us the wisdom and meanings observed in the legal rulings. Whether it is in beliefs, acts of worship, or transactions that achieve the servant’s servitude to God Almighty and achieve the interests of the servants in their lives and their dealings with others, these purposes are based on a set of major principles and values, the most important of which is observance of common sense, freedom, justice, equality, good neighborliness, and security, as they are necessary conditions and foundations for achieving understanding and coexistence. Between different human beings, individuals and groups, coexistence is related to general goals concerned with reforming and organizing society and stabilizing security among the people of society.
