Abstract
This research aims to shed light on the collection: (Shadows or Branches) by the Saudi poet Abdul Aziz Al-Rifai in the context of an analytical stylistic study that delves into the structures of the poetic text. In search of hidden connotations and distant meanings, the researcher approached this study through three levels: the first: the lexical level; In terms of studying vocabulary and styles in their general linguistic significance and their relationship to the poetic context, in addition to studying the semantic fields that the poet relied on using, and the second: the syntactic level; In terms of studying the compositional structures of internal and external titles, in addition to studying declarative, structural, and metaphorical structures, the third: the phonetic level, which is concerned with the rhythm of words and sentences through the external rhythm represented by meter and rhyme, and the internal rhythm represented by rhyme, repetition, alliteration, etc., and it came before these levels. An introduction included an introduction to the poet and a definition of the stylistic study. The research was then concluded with a conclusion that summarized the most important results of the study, the most important of which were: The presence of the lexical level in the collection (Shadows or Branches) is strong. The vocabulary used indicated the poet’s psychological anxiety and inner feeling, in addition to the semantic fields, which indicated the poet’s mastery of his language and his ability to employ his religious and linguistic culture in conveying concerns and describing feelings.
