This study focuses on the rhetoric of the narrative image in the novel The Notebooks of the Bookseller by the Jordanian novelist Jalal Barjas. Its value stems from the narrative discourse and the eloquence of storytelling, which have garnered praise and recognition among contemporary critics and rhetoricians. This is rooted in the belief that narrative possesses its expansive rhetoric, encompassing various aspects of the art of the novel and diverse rhetorical forms that reflect social and ideological transformations. It also addresses the narrator's position, the multiplicity of voices and perspectives, and other outcomes of narrative construction and imagination.

The study gains further significance due to the novel's acclaim, highlighted by its winning of the Booker Prize, which brought it widespread attention. It has achieved a wealth of intellectual contribution and significant narrative structures, expanding the horizons of knowledge within its visual patterns, opulent language, and profound perspective on reality.

The novel successfully creates its unique world, blending reality, dystopia, and cognitive insight. It has directed its thematic trajectory within the narrative events and produced deep symbolism. Through its narrative journey, the novel embodies captivating features that draw the contemplative reader into imagined and deceptive worlds crafted by the events and dictated by the novel's central idea. However, it has no direct connection to the "notebooks" nor does the "bookseller" play a role in shaping it.
