Abstract

This research studies the unacceptable languages of the Arabs according to Abu Mansour Al-Azhari, who described them with various terms such as: poor, ugly, weak, horrific, and not good. Al-Azhari cited some of these qualities from earlier linguists like Al-Khalil, Abu Ubaidah Ma'mar ibn al-Muthanna, and Ibn al-Sikkit And my father, Abu al-Abbas Thalab, and others, some of which he judged himself, and this goes back to his desire that he expressed in the introduction to his dictionary to purify the language from non-eloquent languages, as indicated by the title of his dictionary. I tracked these languages in the Takhzeeb al-Lugha dictionary and searched for them in various language books to extract the reason for their rejection by al-Azhari, and I looked into those who agreed and disagreed with him among linguists, as well as understanding the reasons for the rejection of these languages by linguists.
