Abstract
The study "Last Party" by Salih Zamanan aims to examine the sign components within the theatrical text and assess their influence on the creation of meaning. It explores the relationship between the signifier and the signified, as well as the role of non-linguistic signs in enhancing the aesthetics of the theatrical text using a semiotic approach. To achieve this objective, the study is divided into four main axes. The first axis focuses on the structure of physical signs, encompassing discussions on physical movement, expressive signs, and emotional signs. The second axis delves into the structure of iconic signs, including punctuation marks such as commas, periods, ellipses, and quotation marks. The third axis addresses indicative signs, which encompass various indicators such as laughter, crying, and shouting. Lastly, the fourth axis examines the structure of objects, highlighting how items such as clothes, tables, and chairs serve as indicative signs that can be interpreted and analyzed. The study concludes that the theatrical text under investigation exhibits a diverse range of non-linguistic signs, necessitating the utilization of various symbols and signs. Additionally, the text relies on multiple emotional and expressive forms, enabling it to be subject to multiple readings and interpretations.
