Abstract

The study titled "The Poetic Stylistic Displacement in Abdullah Bashirahil's Poetry" aims to examine the phenomenon of displacement in poetic creativity as manifested in the poetry of Abdullah Bashirahil, in order to uncover many aspects of his style. Our poet has skillfully utilized his abilities and diverse tools to create a different poetic language through the phenomenon of displacement, particularly through visual displacement. His methods varied between symbolism, pictorial paradoxes, and vivid imagery, expanding the significance of his meanings. This study adopts a descriptive methodology to describe and analyze this phenomenon in his poetry. It consists of an introduction discussing the importance, objectives, methodology, previous studies, and the study's plan. It also introduces the poet, his literary status, and his literary works, as well as the relationship between style and rhetoric, defining displacement and presenting its forms in Arabic rhetoric. The study comprises three sections, each addressing a facet of the poet's visual displacement: the first section focuses on symbolic imagery, the second on pictorial paradoxes, and the third on displacement and artistic representation. The study concludes with findings, including the significance of semantic displacement as a means for the poet's revolutionary creative expression by breaking traditional norms towards the unfamiliar, astonishing, and attention-grabbing. The poet's use of pictorial paradoxes is characterized by its reliance on heritage to achieve contemporary significance that contradicts the traditional meaning of the absent heritage text, among other confirmed results in the study.
