Abstract
Broken plurals are considered in the field of morphology as part of the imposed issues which are tackled by scholars from different perspectives whether being theoretical or practical and from singular to plural and vice versa. Alasmaeiat are considered in the literary field as one of the best poetic collections due to the supreme status of Alasmaei as scholar and critic, however, they are still poor in terms of in-depth studies that reveal their morphological and semantic levels and hence the idea of this study constructed. This study is devoted to the collection of the broken plurals in Alasmaeiat and their investigation from a morpho-semantic perspective and the extent to which these formulas are covered in the syntactic books. The researcher has followed the descriptive analytic method in this study which is composed of three chapters preceded by an introduction and it came up with contributive results. The study came up with significant result that Alasmaeiat are part of the rich Arabic poetic collections which are not deeply investigated. Another result is that Alasmaeiat are full of lexical items that are not included in the Arabic dictionaries which contained numerous broken plurals formulas of different rhythms such as: replacement in the form of "Aafal – feil – mafaeil – faaeil – faal" , and the assimilation in the form of "afaul – afeila" and the adverbial diversion and elision as in "shua" and other plurals came in the form of the gerund as "fowal". The semanticity in Alasmaeiat is variant due to the fact that poets employ Broken plurals ' formulas to serve the artistic image that denote meaning. The researcher recommended the necessity of investigating and producing Arabic poetic collections at the four linguistic levels and make it relevantly attainable.
